Pablo Zabaleta completed 90 minutes in the 4-3 win against Huddersfield Town on Saturday – and many West Ham fans on Twitter fumed at him for his performance.
The 34-year-old defender was recalled to the team by manager Manuel Pellegrini and was involved in a thrilling Premier League match.
The Hammers went in 2-1 down at half-time, as goals from Juninho Bacuna and Karlan Grant cancelled out Mark Noble’s early penalty.
Bottom of the table Huddersfield appeared to be heading to a rare three points when Grant added a third for the visitors at the London Stadium, but there was still a late shock in store.
Angelo Ogbonna’s goal followed by a brace from Javier Hernandez for the hosts earned West Ham three points before the international break to lift Manuel Pellegrini’s team.

Some West Ham fans are adamant that Zabaleta should not play again despite the dramatic late victory at the weekend.
The Argentinian full-back has been a tremendous servant over the years in the Premier League, but has lost his speed and Ryan Fredericks is the more youthful option for the Hammers.
Zabaleta, 34, isn’t quite up the level required anymore in the top flight and it was a poor defensive display from the entire team.
Here are some of the West Ham fans tearing into Zabaleta on social media:
