West Ham fans impressed by Aston Villa player after Monday draw

West Ham United held Aston Villa to a 0-0 draw on Monday night after going down to 10 men for the final quarter of the match – and Hammers fans were mightily impressed with a player their side struggled to keep a hold of.

Lukasz Fabianski made a number of important saves while Jack Grealish and Wesley had excellent chances to break the deadlock. West Ham, meanwhile, could not create any kind od half-chance themselves.

John McGinn was signed by Steve Bruce at Aston Villa in the summer of 2018 from Hibernian for a bargain £2.75million, and he has since gone on to shine in the Premier League after playing a crucial part in Villa’s promotion from the second tier.

In his five Premier League appearances, he is quickly developing a reputation in the Premier League as one of Villa’s most important players alongside the likes of Grealish, Tyrone Mings and Tom Heaton.

A goal against Tottenham on the opening day and an assist in the 2-0 win over Everton, Scotland international McGinn has started excellently. Fabianski made an excellent save to deny him, before an effort from 20 yards scraped the post.

West Ham fans reacted to McGinn’s performance for Villa on Monday night, and many believe he was excellent for Dean Smith’s side. Some even believe the left-footed star would be an excellent addition at the London Stadium.
