West Ham fans hail Angelo Ogbonna’s performance against Leicester

West Ham United fans have lavished praise on defender Angelo Ogbonna for a colossal display against Leicester City.

The Hammers followed up their outstanding 4-0 win over Wolves last weekend with a 3-0 victory over the Foxes at the King Power Stadium.

The result was all the more impressive given Leicester had a 100% record in the league before kick-off and had just beaten Manchester City 5-2 at the Etihad Stadium.

Goals came from Michail Antonio, Pablo Fornals and Jarrod Bowen, who was a real thorn in Leicester’s side.

Leicester had more of the ball than the visitors according to official match statistics, but seldom troubled Lukasz Fabianski in the West Ham goal.

The defensive showing will be something that will really please David Moyes.

Back-to-back clean sheets are something of a rarity for the Hammers, but someone who has played a big part in that achievement, is Angelo Ogbonna.

The 32-year-old was rock solid in the heart of West Ham’s defence when he absolutely needed to be against the in-form Jamie Vardy.
