West Ham have confirmed that Martin Samuelsen has joined Championship side Hull City on a permanent basis – and some of the club’s supporters on Twitter are not pleased with the news.
The Hammers confirmed (official website) on Thursday that the 22-year-old has joined Hull for an undisclosed fee.
He’s agreed a two-and-a-half year deal with the Tigers and has now completed a permanent move away from the London Stadium.
Samuelsen has been on the books at West Ham since 2015 and had a string of loan spells away from the club in recent years to help his development.
The versatile attacker played two senior games for West Ham, but has improved elsewhere and was in great form at his last club.
He played 39 games across all competitions during a loan for Norwegian top-flight club FK Haugesund, where he managed 14 goals and five assists in return.
A selection of West Ham supporters on social media are not pleased about losing Samuelsen in January and believe that he could have had a successful long-term future if he had stayed.
The speed machine will now try carve out a career in English football with Hull, who are trying to chase a play-off spot in the Championship.
Here are some West Ham fans on Samuelsen:
Shame. Thought he was a good prospect, and quick.

More money for the owners then. More asset stripping. The plan is working beautifully. The only spanner in the works would be relegation.

Another wasted opportunity – they sign these young guys, hailing them as the future of West Ham. They loan them out and sell them! #BoardOut
