West Ham are being linked with Blackburn Rovers forward Adam Armstrong – and some Hammers fans on Twitter are extremely positive about the transfer speculation.

According to the Sun, West Ham and Fulham are leading the chasing pack in the race for the 24-year-old’s signature this summer.

It is understood that Championship club Blackburn are trying to persuade him to sign a new deal at Ewood Park as it enters its final year, but there is interest in him from elsewhere.

The report explains that the £25million-rated striker is also wanted by his ex-club Newcastle United, but it’s West Ham and Fulham that are expected to start the bidding.

Armstrong, who was the star player for a Blackburn side that finished 15th in the Championship this season, is a quick frontman that is clinical around the box.

He produced a phenomenal return of 29 goals in 43 appearances across all competitions during the campaign.

The English attacker played 15 games in the Premier League with Newcastle, but is still waiting to be a first-choice option for a top-flight club.

A selection of West Ham supporters on social media are confident that Armstrong could bring some much-needed firepower to their squad.

They have an amazing forward in Michail Antonio at the London Stadium who bullies defences, but his injury record is a concern when you consider there is no real back-up in the Irons squad to cover for him.
