West Ham playmaker Manuel Lanzini is back in contention this weekend against Bournemouth – and some of the club’s supporters on Twitter are buzzing with the news.

Manuel Pellegrini has confirmed (official website) in his pre-match press conference that the 26-year-old could feature on Saturday.

The Hammers travel to Bournemouth for a Premier League fixture and attacking midfielder Lanzini may return to boost them.

Lanzini has started the new campaign in decent form for the Irons, supplying two assists in five appearances.

But he missed the win over Manchester United last weekend through injury and was also absent in mid-week during the embarassing 4-0 defeat to League One Oxford United in the Carabao Cup third round.

A selection of West Ham supporters on social media are delighted to see Lanzini back in the squad for the weekend.

The Argentina international can be the heartbeat of the team when he’s on form and dictate play in the final third.

Aside from the cup disappointment, Pellegrini’s team have started well in the league with 11 points from six games and a win at the weekend would leave them in a great position.
