West Ham fans credit Tomas Soucek for performance against Manchester City

West Ham were beaten away to Manchester City on Wednesday night in the Premier League – but some of the club’s supporters on Twitter did at least find some positives from the performance of Tomas Soucek.

The Hammers suffered a 2-0 loss at the Etihad Stadium and that means they remain in the relegation places.

Rodri and Kevin De Bruyne were on the scoresheet for Manchester City, who cruised to three points to tighten their grip on second in the league table.

David Moyes watched his team struggle for the majority of the game and they failed to have a single shot on target.

West Ham travel to Anfield to face Liverpool next in the league and there position down the bottom end of the table is looking more dangerous by the week.

A selection of West Ham supporters on social media did feel that Soucek was one individual that could keep his head up following his display.

The 24-year-old had to put in a tireless shift to try keep up with a Manchester City team that dominated possession and patient in their build up.

Soucek only moved to the London Stadium on loan in January from Slavia Prague and has a lot of potential to be a success in the team.

The 6ft 4in colossus has added an extra presence to the Hammers XI and he did his best to drive forward at the Etihad without too much luck.

He is a defensive midfielder by trade that can play a box-to-box role, but there does appear to be a slight imbalance when he features alongside both Mark Noble and Declan Rice.
