West Ham fans can't believe Antonio hasn't made the England squad after Jamaica call-up

Michail Antonio, much like many other players in the Premier League, is set to jet off on international duty.

However, the versatile West Ham forward will be flying out and earning his first caps for Jamaica, despite being included in England squads in the past.

At the age of 31, Antonio is late to the international party. However, this is because he only declared for the Caribbean nation back in March (Sky Sports) with the aim of playing internationally before the end of his career.

Antonio isn’t the only dual nationality player that The Reggae Boyz are looking to poach either.

Back in March, the Jamaican Football Federation chief, Michael Ricketts, claimed there are up to ten players the island nation want to take from under Gareth Southgate’s nose (The Sun).

It is no secret that Antonio has been in flying form at the start of this season.

The new West Ham number nine has scored four and assisted three in his first three games for the Hammers this season, and this form has led many fans to believe he deserves to play for England.

Antonio has transformed over the years for West Ham, going from a stop-gap player who featured 19 times at right-back (Transfermarkt), to a fantastic, hard-working forward.

That transformation has been miraculous, as the 31-year-old is now the club’s record goal-scorer in the Premier League (Club website), and the fans certainly think he is good enough for England.
