West Ham fans becoming fed up with Felipe Anderson after Sheffield United loss

West Ham suffered a narrow 1-0 defeat to Sheffield United on Friday night in the Premier League’s opening game of the weekend – and Hammers fans have blasted Felipe Anderson on Twitter.

A mistake from goalkeeper David Martin was the difference as his poor pass from a goal kick to defender Fabien Balbuena was pounced upon by John Fleck. He went past Balbuena before finding Oli McBurnie, who bundled the ball home.

The 53rd-minute goal was enough to secure three points for the Blades, though Chris Wilder’s side did have to survive a VAR decision late on. Robert Snodgrass scored after good work from Declan Rice, but VAR ruled the goal out through handball.

David Moyes’ side did play well throughout the 90 minutes and will feel very unlucky not to have come away with at least a point. But Brazil international Anderson has struggled this season, and Friday night’s clash was another example.

Anderson, who earns a huge £85,000 a week at West Ham (Spotrac), failed to have any kind of impact on the match – despite scoring his first goal of the season in the previous Premier League match, a 4-0 win over Bournemouth.

Hammers fans reacted to his display on Twitter and given that he cost the east London club around £45million from Lazio, many are becoming fed up at his lack of form and believe he should be churning out much better displays.
