West Ham United could be without record signing Sebastien Haller and winger Felipe Anderson for Saturday’s clash with Brighton.
Manuel Pellegrini is sweating on their fitness, with Haller having apparently picked up a knock against Manchester City last Saturday.
Felipe Anderson was forced from the field with his issue, so fans might have expected such news about the Brazilian, but Haller’s problem comes as something of a surprise.
Speaking in a press conference, Pellegrini said (official website): “We also have small problems with Felipe Anderson and Sebastien Haller. They are recovering from the kicks that they had in the last game. That is the update on injuries. We’ll see tomorrow about them, we have some doubts.”
The development could be a real blow for West Ham, who are looking to bounce back from their 5-0 defeat against a Brighton side who were impressive in their opening game against Watford.
The Seagulls won 3-0 and will be full of confidence going into the game at the Amex Stadium.

Some West Ham supporters were less than impressed with Pellegrini’s bombshell, with many now nervous for the team to take on Brighton:

Imagine being one week into the season and already having 3 people out injured, 2 of them being your best players.
