West Ham fans are not impressed with interest in Emmanuel Adebayor

West Ham are reportedly keen on free agent Emmanuel Adebayor – and some of the club’s supporters on Twitter have raged at the speculation and are desperate for them to avoid him.

According to the Sun, Manuel Pellegrini’s team are one of several clubs that are considering the available 35-year-old attacker.

It is understood that he is also eyed by Sheffield United,  Watford, Celtic and two Italian clubs.

The African centre-forward has spent large spells of his playing career in England, with some memorable games at the likes of Arsenal, Manchester City and Tottenham.

He may be a veteran striker now, but he played in the Turkish top-flight last season for Basaksehir and scored four goals across all competitions.

Adebayor has never been blessed with pace during his career, but is a technical attacker on the ball and a decent finisher too.

A selection of West Ham fans believe his best days are long gone and don’t want him signed this summer.

They currently have Marko Arnautovic and Javier Hernandez as the two main options at striker ahead of the next campaign, which is why an extra alternative makes sense.

But some supporters have stressed their desire to ignore him.

Here are some West Ham fans commenting on Adebayor:
