West Ham fans amazed by what Michail Antonio did for Jamaica on Tuesday night

Michail Antonio scored a wondergoal for Jamaica on Tuesday night during a 1-1 draw with the United States – and West Ham fans have responded.

Antonio, 31, has switched his allegiance to Jamaica in recent weeks. On Tuesday night, he clocked up his third cap for his country against USA.

With Lille forward Timo Weah giving USA the lead, Antonio replied in incredible fashion – smashing an effort into the top corner from 30 yards.

A brilliant goal, that comes after a hugely-impressive solo effort against El Salvador. Antonio is on fire at the moment, in the form of his life.

Indeed, he has seven goals and four assists in 13 games for West Ham this season. A bargain, having cost the Hammers just £7million (Mail) in 2015.

Jamaica still have an outside chance of 2022 World Cup qualification – but with eight of 14 games played, they sit in sixth out of eight nations.

When it was announced that Antonio would be playing for Jamaica, alongside the likes of Leon Bailey and Ravel Morrison – fans were sceptical.

The ex-Nottingham Forest man is renowned for having troublesome hamstrings and is hardly a stranger to injury. But he remains fit.

For West Ham, his exploits with Jamaica seem to be working – allowing Antonio to maintain his momentum and return still on fire.

West Ham fans responded to his gorgeous strike for Jamaica on Tuesday night, and many are hopeful he can bring such form back to East London.
