West Ham are being linked with Manchester City defender Oleksandr Zinchenko – and some of the club’s supporters on Twitter have reacted extremely positively to the speculation.
According to 90min, the Hammers have sounded out Man City over a potential swoop for the 24-year-old next month.
It is explained that Man City are prepared to grant his exit in the January transfer window by listening to offers, as he’s played in just five games across all competitions so far this season.
The report explains that the Ukraine international is now weighing up his future, plus there is also interested from Wolverhampton Wanderers, Southampton and Leicester City in his interest, as well as teams abroad.
Zinchenko has had spells in and out of the XI during his time at Man City, but right now he’s at a low point where he’s down the pecking order of the manager Pep Guardiola and a move away from the Etihad Stadium seems on the cards.
He is an extremely versatile player that has been moulded into a left-back, where he shows great attacking intent flying forward and his defensive work one-on-one has improved.
But he joined Man City as an attack-minded midfielder back in 2016 and he still plays in the centre of the park for his national team.
A selection of West Ham supporters on social media have suggested that new target Zinchenko could be a smart signing in the New Year.
if we could afford him i would love to have zinchenko from city so versatile seen as reports of he can leave city
