West Ham could target Taison if Nasri fails to prove fitness

West Ham United are currently allowing Samir Nasri to train with them.

The star is back in the picture after almost serving his 18 month-long ban for doping.

It has been reported that West Ham intend to sign the star in January, so long as he proves his fitness in the time between now and then.

Although the apparent intention is to sign him, there’s a chance that his fitness could well let him down having been out of the game for so long.

With that said, West Ham need alternative options and should look no further than Shakhtar Donestk star Taison.

Taison would be a great acquisition

Brazilian Taison would make for an exciting signing for the Hammers.

If the proposed Nasri move doesn’t come to fruition, then he would be a fine alternative.

Taison has that low centre of gravity which makes him a nightmare to try and dispossess when he’s got the ball.

He plays with flair and tends to draw players out of position with his clever movement.

It’s a wonder how he hasn’t been poached from the Ukrainian league already – he’s been with Shakhtar now since 2013 and really has stood out for them for a number of years.

Taison dazzled in the Champions League on Tuesday against 1899 Hoffenheim, scoring two goals and providing one assist in a 3-2 victory, including a last-gasp winner.

It really was a stellar performance, and West Ham should be keeping tabs on him now in case the Nasri move fails.
