West Ham United manager David Moyes has made his feelings clear regarding the penalty awarded to Liverpool in tonight’s fixture at Anfield.
West Ham came out with nothing from a spirited display on Merseyside. Diogo Jota ran onto Xherdan Shaqiri’s inch-perfect pass to secure all three points for the Reds despite Pablo Fornals giving the Hammers the lead.
However, Moyes was clearly not happy with the manner in which Liverpool equalised. Mohamed Salah took a tumble in the box before firing home the equaliser from the spot and speaking after the game the West Ham boss made his feelings abundantly clear.
“It’s not the sort of football I want to be involved in,” Moyes is quoted by the BBC. “I think our player stops and throws his arms up because he’s so disappointed about the dive.

“I’m just disappointed they didn’t turn the decision around. Maybe in the second half the decision [Jota’s disallowed goal] went for us, but the first-half one didn’t.”
Of course, this is not the first time Moyes has accused a Liverpool star striker of being something of a diver. He did the same with Luis Suarez during the Uruguayan’s time at Anfield. Suarez then took great pleasure with an ironic diving celebration in front of the then Everton boss, much to the amusement of Liverpool fans.
Whilst Moyes may have a point regarding the penalty decision, Liverpool could argue they had a goal wrongly disallowed for a foul by Sadio Mane later on so, perhaps, things evened out throughout the course of the 90 minutes.
But this is not the first time Salah has been accused of going down easy and the Egyptian may find himself being pulled up for it soon if this reputation continues to build.
