West Ham United may have been dealt a blow if they hope to sign Adam Armstrong this summer, with a report from The Sun claiming that Brighton are keen on the striker.
Armstrong has enjoyed another outstanding season at Blackburn Rovers. The 24-year-old has scored 19 goals in the Championship after bagging 16 times in the second tier last term.

Unsurprisingly, he is attracting attention at the highest level. The Sun reports that West Ham are monitoring him ahead of the summer. However, the Irons are reportedly reluctant to meet his £25 million asking price.
And it appears that they may have been dealt a setback if they hope to sign the forward for below that figure.

According to The Sun, Brighton have joined the race. And the report claims that the Seagulls are willing to go near Blackburn’s reported demands.
TBR View: West Ham may rue having competition for Armstrong
West Ham would have been forgiven for feeling confident that they could potentially get Blackburn to lower their asking price for Armstrong.
As noted by a previous report by The Sun, he is out of contract at Ewood Park next summer. So Rovers face a potential dilemma at the end of this campaign.
But if Brighton are willing to go close to his asking price, West Ham surely have little hope of agreeing a cut-price deal.
