West Ham: Bilic wants ex-Manchester City striker; Chelsea starlet to join on loan; summer signing to leave for free

Slaven Bilic has identified a new target in an attempt to resolve the club’s striker woes by eyeing up former Manchester City striker Stevan Jovetic as the Montenegro international struggles for game time at Inter Milan, where he has played just 52 minutes of football this season.

TuttoMercatoWeb report that the Hammers are in the race to rescue the 27-year-old from the San Siro, with his former club Fiorentina also chasing his signature. Despite being prolific many years ago, Jovetic has scored just 17 goals in the past three and a half seasons.

The Irons are also believed to be targeting a move for another player struggling for game time, with Bilic ready to sign Reuben Loftus-Cheek on loan from Chelsea, claim the Daily Star, after the 20-year-old has fallen down the pecking order at Stamford Bridge and has only played nine minutes of Premier League action this campaign.

The England under 21 international has undoubted potential and would add depth to West Ham’s midfield, an area where quality has been lacking in recent weeks as the team have struggled to maintain an improved run of form after a poor start to the campaign.

As yet another summer signing flops, the Sun claim that West Ham are ready to cut their losses on former Liverpool and Real Madrid full-back Alvaro Arbeloa and allow him to leave in January after struggling in his only two appearances for the club to date, being booked against both Southampton and Accrington Stanley.

Alongside Gokhan Tore and Simone Zaza, the Irons are hoping to get rid of summer additions just months after they joined the club in what is becoming increasingly clear was a disastrous transfer window for the club.
