West Ham backed into corner over Marko Arnautovic’s demands

West Ham have reportedly been put into a difficult scenario over attacker Marko Arnautovic, which seems like a no-win situation for them.

According to the Sun, the Hammers will have to pay a staggering £200,000-a-week to keep him at the London Stadium.

It is understood he already has a £130,000-a-week deal to remain with the London club another four-and-a-half year, but the Austria international wants one last big pay out.

The report details West Ham will not increase his salary to the mammoth amount, as it would blow apart their current wage structure.

Arnautovic has already revealed to Austrian newspaper Kurier he wants to play with the best player and his future with Manuel Pellegrini’s side is unclear.

West Ham will ruin their structure if they cough up the mega money for a new Arnautovic deal, while offloading their current best player would be seen as a backwards step too.

The centre-forward has scored five goals in 11 games so far this campaign and been a brilliant addition since he arrived from Stoke City.

It looks like there will be some bad blood with the player now whatever the outcome and leaning towards selling him for a huge fee could be the best way to get around it.
