West Ham United and Crystal Palace are interested in signing out-of-favour Chelsea striker Olivier Giroud this winter, according to the Daily Mail.

The Telegraph is reporting that the likes of Giroud, Pedro, and Marcos Alonso could be up for sale at Chelsea in January, with the club ready to go all-in with their young talents.

It means that Giroud, who is out of contract at the end of the season, could be available and the Mail report West Ham and Palace would ‘be willing’ to keep Giroud in the Premier League. He is also said to have interest from Ligue 1 as he looks to secure a place in the French side for Euro 2020.

West Ham and Palace have often had their names linked with Giroud and it is easy to see why. Both need extra striking options and would be able to afford Giroud the chance to remain in London, where he has played all of his career in England.

A fee would likely be small, considering his contract situation. However, wages would undoubtedly be a stumbling block. Giroud is, according to The Express, on £110,000-a-week at Stamford Bridge and both clubs would surely want to pay him less than that.

But bringing in the 95-cap World Cup winner will undoubtedly be an attractive proposition for both sides.
