West Brom’s promotion bid could hinge on final two Aston Villa fixtures

West Brom’s brilliant form of late has dragged them back into the picture for automatic promotion and it looks like two from four teams will end the season on top.

The Baggies have 10 points from their last four league games to move fourth in the table, which is just a point behind Sheffield United and Leeds, plus just three points behind leaders Norwich City.

Darren Moore’s side are in contention for a return at the first attempt to the Premier League and now have a lot in their favour.

They do play two of the top three in their next two games and have a real chance to lay down a marker.

West Brom have had five different goalscorers in their last five games to highlight the quality throughout the team and they are making a late charge for promotion.

Remarkably West Brom may need a favour off Midlands rivals Aston Villa at the end of the season, who could have a big role to play.

Villa’s season has stagnated and they are nine points off the play-offs, but they could still end up impacting West Brom in the final seven days of the campaign.

Villa travel to Leeds in the penultimate fixture of the season, before hosting Norwich on the final day and the Baggies fans would surely love one of their rivals to help them out by taking points off promotion contenders.
