Teenage midfielder Zak Brown has posted on Twitter after finally agreeing a deal to stay at West Bromwich Albion beyond this summer – and Baggies fans have reacted on Twitter to his post.
Brown, 19, is another example of West Brom’s excellent youth academy which has produced the likes of Rekeem Harper, Kyle Edwards, Nathan Ferguson and Rayhaam Tulloch. But his contract was coming to an end.
Box-to-box midfielder Brown graduated from Under-18 side to the reserve team last season and has since clocked up 21 appearances for the Under-23 team – scoring two goals and laying on another two assists.
Unlike that of Ferguson, who is expected to leave this summer amid interest from Premier League clubs including Crystal Palace, Brown has agreed to remain at West Brom by signing a new deal – and confirmed as such on Twitter.
Delighted to sign my professional contract with @wba . I want to thank everyone who’s supported me and believed in me through my journey so far. 12 years on and We just getting started 💙 pic.twitter.com/dddOjn23YL

Realistically, Brown has the odds stacked against him as he looks to break into the senior side. Jake Livermore, Romaine Sawyers, Gareth Barry, Filip Krovonovic and others are Slaven Bilic’s current first-team options.
West Brom supporters reacted to Brown’s Tweet after the midfielder stated his delight at putting pen to paper at a club he has played for since he was just seven years old – and many Baggies fans applauded Brown.
Go on son!!! Love that
