West Bromwich Albion reportedly want Dwight Gayle in January.
According to The Sun, West Brom will try to re-sign Gayle in the January transfer window. The Newcastle United striker is attracting interest from the West Midlands.
Gayle spent last season on loan at West Brom. It was a loan-swap arrangement involving Salomon Rondon moving in the other direction. It worked out well for both parties with Gayle racking up a tally of 24 goals in 41 games.
However, any talk of a permanent swap deal with Rondon was ended when the Venezuelan striker moved to China. Gayle then picked up an injury in pre-season, stopping him from moving away from Newcastle.
The 29-year-old is now available for selection again. He was an unused substitute in the 1-0 win over Manchester United and he was given a four-minute cameo against Chelsea last weekend.
With Andy Carroll currently out injured, it is unclear whether Steve Bruce will give Gayle more chances. But if not, West Brom are lurking. Here are some Baggies fans who would love Gayle back.
His quick feet would fit in perfectly with Diangana, Pereira and Kov and he can score goals out of nothing. Absolute no brainer for me.
