West Brom fans react on Twitter to Mamadou Sakho interest reports

A number of West Bromwich Albion fans have taken to Twitter to comment on reports from The Sun on Sunday (3/1; page 57) over the weekend claiming that the Baggies want Mamadou Sakho.

It is little surprise to see Sam Allardyce target strengthening his defence. West Brom conceded nine goals in two home games last week.

And it appears that the new Baggies boss is keen to turn to a familiar face. The Sun on Sunday (3/1; page 57) reported that West Brom are keen on Sakho.

It is suggested that Allardyce may be looking at a loan deal for the centre-back. And while his contract with Crystal Palace expires in the summer, the report claimed that the Eagles are keen to offload the 30-year-old.

Spotrac shows that he earns £100,000-a-week at Selhurst Park. So he would not necessarily come cheap even on loan. But it is suggested that talks could get underway in the coming days.

The reports have attracted plenty of reaction on social media. And it appears that many feel the same way about the links.

Some believe that he would be an outstanding signing. Sakho has previously produced some colossal performances during his time in the Premier League.

But the general feeling appears to be that he would be worth a gamble because he is an upgrade on what the club already has in their ranks.
