West Brom fans react on Twitter to Conor Gallagher’s debut

A number of West Bromwich Albion fans have taken to Twitter to comment on Conor Gallagher’s debut for the club as the Baggies were knocked out of the Carabao Cup on Tuesday.

They may be in different divisions, but Slaven Bilic’s men came up against a familiar foe at the Hawthorns, with Brentford standing between the Baggies and a place in the fourth round.

Unfortunately for West Brom, the Bees came out on top in the penalty shootout as the game finished 2-2.

But there were some real positives for the Baggies. Branislav Ivanovic impressed on his debut. But he was not the only player making his West Brom bow.

Gallagher made his first appearance after joining on loan. And it appears that he impressed a number of supporters with his display.

He provided plenty of energy and came close to scoring in open play. Whoscored.com shows that he made more key passes than any other Baggies player.

The 20-year-old also had the confidence to chip his penalty down the middle in the shootout. It was fellow summer signing Grady Diangana who saw his effort saved.

And many are clearly excited about what Gallagher will contribute during his time on loan. Here is how some of the fans reacted to his debut display…
