West Brom fans react on Twitter as Leeds reportedly eye Sam Johnstone

A number of West Bromwich Albion fans have taken to Twitter to comment on reports from The Sun over the weekend claiming that Leeds United are interested in Sam Johnstone.

Johnstone has been a revelation since the Baggies’ promotion. The goalkeeper had previously come in for criticism at times as West Brom looked to get out of the Championship.

But he has stepped up in the top flight. And he has certainly produced some colossal performances. He made an incredible late save as Liverpool pushed for a winner in Sunday’s clash at Anfield.

Unfortunately for West Brom, it would appear that they may face a battle to keep the goalkeeper at the Hawthorns.

According to The Sun, his contract expires in 18 months. And there is interest in him, with Leeds and Brighton reportedly monitoring his situation.

Unsurprisingly, the news has not gone down well amongst plenty of West Brom fans on social media. Several feel that keeping him is simply a must – particularly if they hope to stay up this season.

He has been one of their standout performers this season. And that has left many imploring the club to not even think about selling him to the likes of Leeds or Brighton.
