West Ham United have completed the season-long loan signing of defender Craig Dawson from Championship side Watford as confirmed on Monday evening – and West Brom supporters have reacted on Twitter, following the move.
The Hammers have finally eased their lack of options at centre-back by bringing the 30-year-old defender to the club, initially on loan with a view to a permanent move. It comes after the Hammers failed with numerous offers for other defenders.
Indeed, Fikayo Tomori almost joined on deadline day only to cancel a loan at the last minute. Reports have claimed that offers were made for the likes of James Tarkowski, Wesley Fofana and plenty more from around Europe.
Dawson played 225 times for West Brom, and has also clocked up an enormous 182 appearances in the Premier League. A player with enormous experience in England’s top tier, and also offers cover on the right side of a back four.
The Hammers have an option to make the deal permanent at the end of the season for Dawson, while West Ham are alsoi expected to be in the market for one or two more signings. Said Benrahma and Josh King continue to be linked.
West Brom supporters reacted on Twitter to the news that their former player has signed for West Ham on loan until the end of the season. Some believe he will be a good signing for the Hammers, while others have praised his agent for the move.
