Darnell Furlong completed 90 minutes in the 1-1 home draw against Reading on Wednesday night – and some West Brom fans on Twitter were delighted by the quality of his performance.

The defender joined the Baggies in the summer from Championship rivals QPR and was given his first league appearance in midweek.

Slaven Bilic’s side earned a point in the Championship, as Kenneth Zohore’s late goal ruled out an opener from Reading’s Ovie Ejaria.

West Brom are unbeaten with two wins and two draws at the start of the league campaign, which means they currently occupy the final play-off position.

A selection of West Brom fans singled out Furlong for his individual contribution and feel he was a standout performer at the Hawthorns.

The 23-year-old made his West Brom debut in the EFL Cup defeat to Millwall, but was drafted into the league XI by Bilic against Reading.

He’s an attack-minded right-back that was a major threat on Wednesday night when he got forward and could have earned a penalty when he draw a challenge in the box.

The full-back’s crossing was dangerous and he should be aiming to force his way into the team on a permanent basis.

Here are some West Brom fans raving about Furlong:
