Everton are being linked with a move for exciting young French defender Wesley Fofana.

The Daily Mail claim the Toffees are in the mix to sign the Saint-Etienne youngster along with Leicester City and AC Milan.

It is thought Leicester are currently in pole position to land the teenager, with the Foxes prepared to offer about £20 million.

Everton are said to have made checks on Fofana, who is viewed as one of the top young prospects in Ligue 1.

The player is apparently keen on a move to the Premier League, and it could be that Everton come in with an offer of their own with Carlo Ancelotti need to strengthen his defence.

The Italian does not have many options at the moment, but Fofana would be a real coup.
