Wes Foderingham has posted on Instagram after he was confirmed as leaving Rangers when his contract expires in the summer, and plenty of players have reacted – including Josh Windass, Daniel Candeias and Sheyi Ojo.
Foderingham, 29, has spent five years at Ibrox since joining the club from Swindon Town – clocking up 143 appearances and conceding just 144 goals in that time. However, the last two seasons, Foderingham has played back-up to Allan McGregor.
Rangers confirmed the departure of goalkeeper Foderingham a day after Celtic were crowned champions, and Foderingham was not the only player to leave. Jason Holt, Andy Halliday, Jon Flanagan, Jordan Rossiter and Jak Alwnick have all left.
Foderingham posted a heartfelt message to Rangers supporters on Instagram, describing his five-year spell at Rangers as “an incredible journey” and stated that he will always be a Gers fan.
It remains to be seen where Foderingham will end up this season, with a move down south expected. Indeed, the goalkeeper has been linked with numerous clubs at Championship level during his time at Rangers and that could now materialise.
A whole host of current and old Rangers teammates responded to Foderingham’s post, with the likes of Greg Docherty, Sheyi Ojo, Josh Windass, Martyn Waghorn, Harry Forrester, Daniel Candeias and Jordan Thompson all responding.
