Liverpool assistant coach Peter Krawietz is confident that Reds prodigy Harvey Elliott will become a “valuable member” of Jurgen Klopp’s team in the foreseeable future, as told to Goal.com.

The Anfield side snapped up the talented teenager last summer after his youth contract at Fulham expired.

Despite his young age – he turned 17 in April – Elliott has already made eight senior appearances for Liverpool, two of those coming in the Premier League.

Elliott was particularly impressive in the FA Cup replay win over Shrewsbury back in February, his intricate passes and direct runs pulling the opposition apart.

Now, Klopp’s right-hand man has tipped the young winger to fully break into the first team and become an established member of the squad sooner rather than later.

“We are very optimistic that we will be able to accompany his path successfully so that he will become a valuable member of the professional team in the foreseeable future,” Krawietz told Goal and SPOX.

“He has a great character and already offers a great soccer package. The football understanding bubbles out of his ears.”

It’s easy to forget that Elliott has not long turned 17, with some of his performances for the first team suggesting he’s already capable of delivering at that level, not to mention Jordan Henderson saying “his talent is frightening”.

With such a great academy and a pathway to the first team – as shown by the likes of Trent Alexander-Arnold’s rise – managed by arguably the best head coach in the world, the future looks bright for all parties.
