Newcastle fans have taken to Twitter in disgust after Castore released the club’s new home shirt for the 2021/22 season.
What’s the story?
Well, Castore have been put in charge of creating Newcastle’s shirts after taking the reins from Puma.
However, their debut creation doesn’t seem to be a hit with supporters.
Castore have gone with what’s often known as a Grandad’s collar, in which there are buttons on a strip going down the centre.
Castore have also gone with the thicker stripe option, in comparison to the thinner stripes we saw Puma adopt last season.
One major design flaw

For the eagle-eyed supporters among the St James’ Park faithful, you will notice one major design flaw.
Thanks to the white Grandad collar, there is a huge, black number four right in the centre of the shirt.
Once you see it, you simply can’t unsee it.
In our view, it’s not the greatest way for Castore to kick off their partnership with Newcastle.

Puma’s 2020/21 home shirt was a much better effort.
However, some fans seemed to like it away from the comments below, so it’s a game of opinions we suppose.
Nevertheless, let’s see how the Newcastle fans on Twitter reacted to the club announcement…
