Aston Villa supporters agree that Frederic Guilbert should be a backup option next season for Matty Cash.
Birmingham Live report that the French defender is expected to return to the club next season. Dean Smith is likely to have the 26-year-old right-back compete for the position alongside Cash, who made the role his own last year.

Guilbert was impressive for Strasbourg last season after joining the French club for the second half of the campaign. The defender made 13 appearances for the Ligue 1 side, scoring once and assisting four.
With Ahmed Elmohamady leaving Villa this summer, though, the club need a second right-back. Last season saw Ezri Konsa fill in for Cash when the English defender was unavailable.

However, next season could see Guilbert take this position for the Villains. And fans on social media are eager for the Frenchman to compete for the right-back position at the club alongside Cash.
Here’s what some fans had to say on Twitter about Guilbert remaining with Villa for next season…
