A number of Newcastle United fans have welcomed speculation linking the Magpies to Ludovic Blas.

Newcastle have two more weeks to bolster their ranks in hope of surviving in the Premier League.

The Magpies certainly need to bring in more quality – they’ve still won just one league game this season.

So far, Newcastle have brought in two players – Kieran Trippier and Chris Wood.

The Magpies are reportedly looking for a centre-back next, with Diego Carlos apparently in talks with PIF.

However, some quality in linking up midfield and attack wouldn’t go amiss.

And Blas, who plays for Nantes, certainly seems to fit the bill.

According to the Daily Star, Newcastle are in talks over the 24-year-old.

As well as the St James’ Park outfit, Watford are apparently also hoping to land the Frenchman.

Blas has made 21 appearances in all competitions this season, and has bagged eight goals and an assist.

Last season, he got an impressive 10 goals and five assists from 36 Ligue 1 appearances.

Blas also recorded the most successful dribbles in the 2020-21 Ligue 1 campaign with 80.

He is also very versatile and capable of filling in multiple positions for Howe.
