‘We have three finals’: Fabinho rallies Liverpool ahead of ‘decisive’ final games

Liverpool midfielder Fabinho has stated that the Merseyside club’s three remaining Premier League fixtures are cup finals as the Reds aim for a top-four finish in the run-in.

Speaking to Sky Sports News ahead of today’s massive league encounter with already-relegated West Bromwich Albion, the 12 capped Brazilian international rallied the squad by lamenting that the final three games of the season will be similar to cup finals, with Liverpool currently outside the top-four in the league standings.

Jurgen Klopp’s side have a chance to qualify for the UEFA Champions League if they win all three of their remaining games as well as overturning their goal difference so it gives them the numerical advantage over Leicester City, and for Fabinho, these final games will be the most important part of the club’s season.

The former AS Monaco rock said: “Now is the decisive part of the season. We have three finals to play, to win. We have to try and play our best football but in finals you have to win. If we don’t play our best but can get the three points, I will take it because that is what we need in this moment.”

TBR View: Liverpool need to play their best football this season if they’re to sneak UCL place

Following on from their incredible Premier League title win last season, the Reds have had a torrid year in almost every way possible.

Injuries have been cruel to Klopp’s side this season, with the likes of Virgil van Dijk and Joe Gomez missing, effectively, the entire year, whilst the likes of Jordan Henderson, Trent Alexander-Arnold and summer signing Thiago Alcantara have all had lengthy spells out on the recovery table.

And yet Liverpool still have a fighting chance of top-four, and with a favourable run-in facing before them, the Reds will have to play their best football this season if they’re to clinch a Champions League spot at the final hurdle of the league season.
