‘We are a laughing stock’: Spurs fans react as Erik Ten Hag signs new contract

Spurs will not be appointing Ajax manager, Erik Ten Hag, anytime soon it seems, with the 51-year-old signing a new contract with the Dutch giants this morning.

Ten Hag was thought to be high on the list of potential candidates for Spurs and their chief, Daniel Levy. However, Ten Hag has opted to pen fresh terms over in Holland, signing a new deal until 2023.

Of course, in football you just never know, and it might well be a ploy by Ajax to simply protect themselves should clubs come in for their boss, in terms of compensation.

However, that hasn’t stopped some Spurs fans from venting their frustrations on social media, with Twitter full of comments from perplexed Tottenham supporters who thought Ten Hag was the man for them.
