'Watched this like 20 times': Some Liverpool fans react to 5-second training footage of Konaté
Liverpool fans have taken to Twitter to react after a 5-second clip of Ibrahima Konaté in pre-season training emerged.
What did the footage show?
While you might expect the footage to show the colossus doing some defensive actions, it was actually from a shooting drill.
Up against Loris Karius, the £36m centre-back can be seen thumping the ball into the top-left corner, leaving the German glovesman rooted.
Looking Back At OUR Euro 2020 Predictions
It proved that Konaté isn’t just a defensive lump, but he actually has a bit of technique to his game going forward.
Satisfyingly, his powerful effort thundered off the bar before bouncing over the line – it’s always better when it goes in off the woodwork.
Ibrahima Konaté and Virgil van Dijk could cause chaos
When Liverpool win a corner, or a freekick in the final third next season, the opposition should be quaking in their boots.
Why? Well, with the addition of Konaté, Jürgen Klopp has another giant in his ranks.
Just look at this photo of him alongside Nat Phillips, who is quite the titan himself – he makes the Bolton-born Baresi look small!
Having to mark Konaté and Virgil van Dijk sounds like a complete and utter nightmare for defenders.
From our point of view, we’re expecting plenty of set-piece goals from Liverpool next season, especially with Trent Alexander-Arnold’s exceptional delivery.
For now, let’s see how the Liverpool fans on Twitter reacted to the 5-second footage…
