Kundai Benyu has posted a cryptic message on his Instagram story in the past 24 hours, as the Celtic outcast struggles on loan at Swedish side Helsingborgs IF under the guidance of former Premier League defender Olof Mellberg.
Benyu, 21, joined Swedish side Helsingborgs for the 2019 campaign – Sweden’s Allsvenskan play yearly, rather across two – and with six league games to play, Mellberg’s side sit in 10th place but only five points above the drop.
Signed by Brendan Rodgers from Ipswich Town in the summer of 2017, Benyu has struggled. He has managed just 10 appearances, and failed to even make the bench in the last four outings.
The two-time Zimbabwe international posted a cryptic message on his Instagram story, whether that be summing up his disappointing spell at Celtic which has seen him manage just four senior appearances – or his loan spell in Sweden.

TBR’s view – Selling Benyu would benefit Celtic and player
The move to Glasgow has clearly not worked for the young midfielder. A loan at Oldham saw him manage just five outings in six months, and a season in Sweden has so far seen him play 10 times. Whether there are more, remains to be seen.
But one thing is for sure, and that is Celtic must get rid of Benyu. Rodgers’ signings during his time at Celtic were very much hit and miss, and this is certainly one to throw in the miss column.
He has a contract at Celtic until the summer of 2021, but Benyu needs to leave for the good of his career.
