‘Waste of time’: Tottenham fans respond to Michael Keane interest

Tottenham are reportedly interested in Everton defender Michael Keane – and many of the club’s supporters have fumed with the idea of signing him.

According to the Daily Mail, Spurs could battle their North London rivals Arsenal for the 26-year-old.

The report details that both teams have scouted the England international and that Everton could demand up to £50million for his sale.

It is understood that Mauricio Pochettino’s side are set to be chasing a new centre-back in the summer, with doubts over the long-term futures of Belgian pair Toby Alderweireld and Jan Vertonghen.

Keane has been an ever-present in the team at Goodison Park this campaign and managed to recapture his best form at Everton.

The ball-playing centre-back is showing the kind of form he did at ex-club Burnley and that has seen him become a regular feature at international level too under Gareth Southgate.

Keane does have good experience in the Premier League and is comfortable in possession, but has taken time to settle at Everton and has looked vulnerable at times defensively.
