A number of Leeds United fans have taken to Twitter to praise Elland Road director of football Victor Orta for his open letter to Barry Douglas.
The 31-year-old has left Leeds on a season-long loan, joining Championship outfit Blackburn on the final day of the domestic transfer window.
With his contract running out next summer, Douglas may well have played his last game in the famous white shirt.
The left-back is a popular figure in the Leeds dressing room that has been a consistent performer since he joined from Wolves two years ago.
However, with the club now back in the Premier League, it looks like Stuart Dallas is the mainstay in the left-back position, while Leif Davis is his understudy.
In wake of Douglas’ Leeds exit, Orta penned an emotional open letter to explain the Scot’s significance to the Whites in his two years at the club.
💬 "You're the first permanent member of our promotion winning side to leave us and therefore I felt I should write this open letter to express my thanks."

Leeds fans on social media loved the letter, with some responding with praise for Orta and Douglas:
A very classy touch from a classy person who’s influence on this club bigger than any of us know. I would recommend for everyone to watch Orta’s speech at the player of the year dinner to understand how good a group of players we are so lucky to have now
