Arsenal have reportedly been talking to Ben White, but now Everton are apparently in the chase too.

According to the Daily Mail, the Toffees are hoping to beat the Gunners to the Brighton star’s signature.

The outlet claims they’ve held talks with the Seagulls over a potential £50m transfer for White plus £5m in add-ons.

While the Toffees haven’t made a formal offer, their package would be more than what the Gunners have apparently offered.

The Daily Mail also claims Brighton have rejected two offers from Arsenal already.

The latest one is said to have been £42m plus £4m add-ons, but White’s club is holding out for £50m plus.

Everton have reportedly indicated they are prepared to guarantee a payment of £50m.

£20m would be paid up front with the remaining £30m to be spread equally over the four years of White’s proposed four-year contract.

The report adds that White is keen on signing for Arsenal, who’ll be hoping for a better season under Mikel Arteta in 2021-22.

However, he has been impressed with how quickly the Blues have moved since appointing Rafael Benitez.

As a result, the 23-year-old has not ruled out a move to Goodison Park, added the outlet.

But while Arsenal fans seem particularly eager about White coming to the Emirates, there doesn’t seem to be the same enthusiasm amongst Everton supporters.

Some of them feel they’re already well stocked in central defence, while others think he’s too expensive.
