It would be fair to say Patryk Klimala’s time at Celtic was underwhelming.
Arriving from Polish side Jagiellonia Białystok in January 2020 for around £3.5 million, the striker was expected to play his part in securing a historic tenth successive title this season.
Instead, he’s been limited to just three starts in what’s turned out to be a calamitous season for the Parkhead side.
Over the course of his Celtic career, the 22-year-old scored just three goals in 28 appearances.
His unsuccessful time in Glasgow ended on Thursday, when Celtic confirmed that he had secured a move to MLS side New York Red Bulls.
There were still over three years left on his Celtic contract when his departure was finalised.
These Celtic supporters have expressed their regret at how his spell at the club panned out.
Klimala actually looked quite promising when he came in but he just wasn’t a Celtic striker.
He seemed to thrive on playing vs a high line and running in behind which is something you rarely play against at Celtic. Hope he finds his feet in NY.

People saying that he is a good player or didn't get much of a chance are deluded. He's miles off of the quality we need.

Could tell from the first match he never had it. I'm no sure what our scouts are doing tbh. Our scouting has been shockingly bad in recent years.

Good move for Paddy. Never really given a proper chance so we'll never know if he was really good enough. All the best to him. https://t.co/aohZrrQnZx

This move was doomed to fail from the moment we unveiled him on TikTok. https://t.co/urZd4M4pNy

In a statement on their official website, Celtic said: “Everyone at Celtic thanks Patryk for his contribution to the club and wishes him every success in the future.”
Celtic were saved from a 1-0 defeat against Aberdeen on Wednesday night when substitute Leigh Griffiths equalised deep into injury-time.
