Tottenham and Ajax are both reasonably unlikely Champions League semi-finalists and have a massive opportunity to make the final when their clash kicks off tomorrow night.
It’s a tough one to call but Victor Wanyama believes that Spurs showed in beating Manchester City in the previous round a level of performance that will see off Ajax if repeated.
According to the Sunday People, 28/04, page 52, Wanyama said: “When we fight and stay together like we did in both legs against City, no one can beat us.
“We have shown that already. With that mentality, if we can do it throughout the season, I believe we can be champions. Ajax have a very good team but our philosophy is different to them.”

Wanyama, who signed for Spurs in 2016 on a deal that BBC reported was worth £11m, is right to praise Tottenham’s spirit but the worst thing he and his team-mates can do is underestimate Ajax.
That’s what Real Madrid and Juventus both did, especially during their respective home legs and they paid the price.
Spurs have to give Ajax the respect their run deep into the Champions League deserves because this really is a 50/50 game.
Wanyama has returned to the fold at just the right time to make an impact and will be vital in the absence of Moussa Sissoko in terms of offering energy and discipline in front of the back four.
