Wales secured a 1-0 win over Bulgaria last night thanks to a late goal from Jonny Williams in Sofia. Tottenham star Ben Davies captained the side and he drew praise from supporters.

Davies has been a model of professionalism for the Wales team, stepping up in place of Gareth Bale and Aaron Ramsey.

Against Bulgaria, he collected his 53rd cap for the national team and is proving an integral part of Ryan Giggs’s plans.

He has started three of Tottenham’s four Premier League games this season under Jose Mourinho.

The addition of Sergio Reguilon could make his place in the side uncertain at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium.

It would seem his place is in no danger at international level, however, showing his versatility last night, lining up as a left-sided central defender.

After his solid display last night, supporters have been quick to react and heap praise on the 27-year-old.

Davies has made 197 appearances for Spurs having signed from Swansea City in 2014.

Often solid, if somewhat unspectacular, the £60,000-a-week star will hope to continue getting chances under Mourinho and all he can do is keep working hard.

Here is a selection of Tweets from Wales supporters on the performance of Davies against Bulgaria last night.
