Tottenham’s Joe Rodon played 90 minutes on Tuesday night in a World Cup qualifier – and some Wales fans on Twitter were blown away by his performance for them.
Wales secured a dramatic 1-0 victory over Czech Republic last night.
It was a fixture where both nations has a player sent off in the second half, while Manchester United’s Daniel James popped up with the winning headed goal late on by converting a cross from Tottenham’s Gareth Bale.
Another star performer on the night was Spurs and Wales centre-back Rodon.
The centre-half lined up in the heart of a back three, where he defender resiliently to help keep a precious clean sheet in the qualifier, and was a leader in the defence.
His heroics included an instinctive block in the penalty box from point-blank range to deny what would have been a late equaliser for the Czechs.

Rodon, 23, has established himself as a vital part of his national team.
Unfortunately, he’s still working on trying to do the same at club level.
His first season with Spurs has seen him make just 15 appearances across all competitions, but manager Jose Mourinho did start him in the previous Premier League game before the international break.
Here are some Welsh fans hailing Rodon:
