Tottenham beat Burnley 1-0 in the FA Cup on Friday evening, but there were a few negatives to take away from the game despite the result.
Indeed, Spurs weren’t at their very best against the Clarets, while there was also an injury worry during the game as Ben Davies picked up a hamstring issue.
After a string of brilliant performances, Davies’ injury comes at a bad time for Tottenham, and, unfortunately, it would appear that he’s not the only player suffering right now.
Indeed, according to Tom Barclay, speaking on The Tottenham Way Podcast, Giovani Lo Celso may also be injured after he was substituted for Bryan Gil.

Lo Celso may be injured
Barclay shared an update on the ‘magnificent’ Argentine.
“Also Lo Celso came off for Bryan Gil, at the time I was wondering if that was a tactical decision because it wasn’t really happening, but it turns out he may have been injured, but we’re waiting to see how that turns out,” Barclay said.
Disastrous
Tottenham just can’t catch a break when it comes to injuries at the moment.
Spurs have so many first-teamers out of action at the moment that it’s hard to keep count, and, frustratingly, they’ve also lost another three first-team stars to international obligations via the Asian Cup and the African Cup of Nations.
Tottenham are so light at the moment, particularly in the midfield, that this injury to Lo Celso is the very last thing they needed.
Of course, James Maddison should be back soon, so that should lighten the load, but still, this is far from an ideal situation for Tottenham to find themselves in.
Let’s hope that Lo Celso’s injury is only minor and that he’s not out for too long, because Spurs are truly struggling for any sort of depth at the moment.
