Arsenal fans are worried that Cristiano Ronaldo may be fit and ready to face them on Saturday.
Ronaldo to City
Manchester City are reportedly on the verge of signing the Portuguese superstar, just ahead of their game against Arsenal tomorrow – with the Independent saying that personal terms have now been agreed.
Now, if Ronaldo is to make his debut in the contest then City will really have to get a move on.
City need to confirm their squad by 12:30pm today to take on Arsenal.
But there are rising fears that Pep Guardiola’s side could pull off the transfer in time to see Ronaldo make his debut at the weekend.
Could Ronaldo make his debut against Arsenal?
Arsenal fans’ fears are likely to be unwarranted, although it is understandable why there are so many nerves.
Arsenal’s defence were physically dominated by Romelu Lukaku in their last Premier League outing, and Ronaldo would have the capabilities to do the same.
His seemingly impending move to City should make them even more of an attacking force.
And if Ronaldo’s move doesn’t go through in time for the weekend, then the Gunners may actually be thankful that they are taking on Guardiola’s side so early on in the season.
Arsenal are yet to win or even score a goal in the Premier League this campaign, which has led to concerns rising at the North London club.
Arteta’s side did pick up a 6-0 victory over West Bromwich Albion in midweek though, which should have increased confidence levels somewhat going into tomorrow’s game.
