Liverpool defender Virgil van Dijk has taken to Twitter with a message following his last international game before returning to Anfield.
The 29-year-old captained the Netherlands to a 1-1 draw against Italy on Wednesday, with Donny van de Beek cancelling out Lorenzo Pellegrini’s early strike.
Van Dijk was once again solid and largely untroubled in the Oranje back line, though there was a nervy moment in the game when Ciro Immobile got in behind him.

The result leaves Group A1 of the UEFA Nations League wide open going into November’s fixtures, with Poland on seven points, Italy on six and the Netherlands on five.
With international football now finished for the time being, attention turns to club matters, and in Liverpool’s case, a tricky derby away at high-flying Everton.
While the Toffees have won all of their competitive games this season, the Reds were left reeling by a 7-2 loss at Aston Villa last time out, making this one of the most highly anticipated Merseyside derbies in recent history.
