The January transfer window is just around the corner, and Liverpool are already being linked with a few signings.
Martin Zubimendi remains a Liverpool target heading into the winter, while Liverpool recently scouted Takefusa Kubo too.
However, Liverpool’s next major signing may well be at right-back.
Trent Alexander-Arnold is being linked with Real Madrid, and reinforcements in that position may well be a priority.
According to reports in Germany, Jeremie Frimpong has agreed to join Liverpool.
The Dutch full-back was one of the Bundesliga’s top performers last season, and speaking to Goal, Virgil van Dijk has now used just one word to describe the defender.

Virgil van Dijk describes Jeremie Frimpong in one word
Van Dijk spoke about his Dutch teammate, using just one word to describe him as a player.
Frimpong was incredibly effective down the right flank for Bayer Leverkusen last season, scoring 12 goals and grabbing seven assists.
However, despite his incredible output in the final third, Van Dijk still chose to highlight the defender’s pace as his main attribute.
“Jeremie Frimpong?” Van Dijk was asked.
“Rapid,” Van Dijk said.
How fast is Jeremie Frimpong?
Van Dijk says that Frimpong is a rapid player, and he’s not wrong.
Indeed, when you watch the Dutchman, it’s easy to see just how fast he is.
Of course, the stats further back this up. In fact, according to The Speeds Database, Frimpong would be Liverpool’s joint-fastest player.
| Liverpool’s fastest players | Top speed |
| 1. Darwin Nunez/Jeremie Frimpong* | 35.4 km/h |
| 2. Mohamed Salah | 34.4 km/h |
| 3. Joe Gomez | 34.4 km/h |
| 4. Ibrahima Konate | 34.21 km/h |
| 5. Andy Robertson | 33.8 km/h |
Liverpool fans know just how fast Darwin Nunez is, and Frimpong is equally as quick.
Of course, a move to Anfield would make the world of sense for the Dutchman.
Liverpool have a strong cohort of Dutch players from Ryan Gravenberch and Cody Gakpo to Van Dijk and even the manager Arne Slot, so he would settle in rather easily.
Factor in that Alexander-Arnold could be on his way to Madrid, and you have a transfer that makes a lot of sense.
This is certainly a situation to keep an eye on as we head into the January transfer window.
