Liverpool’s continued dominance of English footbal has seen Virgil van Dijk lead six Reds players be voted into Goal’s top 50 players in the world.
Goal have published their presitgious list of top 50 players, which includes 25 from the male game and 25 from the female side of things.
And among some of the biggest names in the world, it is Liverpool who are the standout team, impressively having six players voted into the list.

Van Dijk leads the way, coming in at number six and being ranked the best defender in the list. He’s just ahead of Sadio Mane, Thiago Alcantara, and Trent-Alexander Arnold, who are 10th, 12th, and 14th respectively.
Interestingly, Mo Salah is behind those three, having been voted into 18th place in the list. Finally, Jordan Henderson completes the Liverpool dominant list by coming 23rd. A reward for the Reds skipper, whose hard work and attitude epitomises Jurgen Klopp’s side.

Goal’s list is a huge success story for the Reds and further throws weight behind just how dominant they have been. However, one small loss is the inclusion of Kevin De Bruyne in second place, making him the highest placed Premier League player in the list.
Deserved and expected, another accolade for the Reds – TBR View
It’s hardly surprising to see Liverpool so well represented in this list. The Reds were so dominant last season that if they did miss out on being included it would have been a travesty.
Van Dijk is the standout name and to say he’s in the top ten as a defender shows just how good he is.
Henderson’s inclusion is a nice touch. He’s often undervalued by many other fans and this is a good nod to just how important he is to the Liverpool XI.
