Virgil van Dijk took to Twitter yesterday to conduct a Q&A session with fans about all things football amid the current UK lockdown.
The Dutchman answered questions on a number of topics, including the Dutch national team, Jurgen Klopp and his time at Celtic.
He was also asked a tough question by one fan, who was wondering if Van Dijk could choose one centre-back partner from football history, who it would be.
Did he go for a Liverpool legend like Alan Hansen or Emlyn Hughes, perhaps a Dutchman like his current national team coach Ronald Koeman? What about legendary figures like Franco Baresi, Franz Beckenbauer, Bobby Moore?
Nope, Van Dijk kept it loyal, choosing his current Liverpool partner in crime, Joe Gomez.

It was a gesture appreciated by the England international. He responded on Twitter, suggesting the pair might be similar in their domination to current NBA star pairing LeBron James and Anthony Davis of the LA Lakers.

Liverpool fans will no doubt appreciate Van Dijk’s loyalty to his current defensive partner, with whom he has formed a feared partnership at the back for Jurgen Klopp’s sensational Liverpool side.
Gomez continues to grow at Liverpool, and the reported (BBC) bargain fee of £3.5 million paid for the young Englishman stands out, even more, considering the world record one paid for Van Dijk.
Hopefully, when Liverpool get back to playing, Van Dijk and Gomez can continue to be such an assertive pairing.
